The Finish Line Mat

finishline_mat

Did you know, that the discrepancies in the finish times of runners are sometimes caused by the runners themselves?

Here’s how. Some runners after finishing their race…

  • goes back to the finish line area to have their pictures taken
  • goes back to the race route to pace their friend and again crosses the finish line
  • just goes back and forth at the finish line area (wala lang…)

In order for runners to have their official times recorded properly (assuming that their timing chip is not broken), they must step on the timing mats when they start running (to record their start time) and once they reach the finish line (to record their finish time).

So, the next time you race and cross that finish line… go as far away from it. 😉
